You asked and I answered:

Thats right! I asked you all to ask me anything and I would post my responses so you could all get to know me better. Thanks so much for all that asked me questions.

1. Christa asked: Do you have any advice for future teachers? My best advice is to use the resources in your school. Veteran teachers that are willing to share are amazing. Also don't go crazy buying things right away. You need time to figure things out. Also use this website: www.donorschoose.org
It is a website where you write proposals and people donating money and you get supplies for your classroom. I pretty much have the entire Lakeshore catalogue for Kindergarten thanks to this website :)
What do you like most about teaching?I love the fact that I can teach and teach and teach and the kids don't look like there getting it then out of the blue they do. It is so exciting to see them happy and proud of themselves that they did get it!

I had a student today that made me so proud. We have been reviewing because next week we have the BIG CRCT tests.... Well anyway today we did math all day. This student is your average student at the same time is mr popular and mr cool. He doesn't like to show that he is smart. Today he worked with one of his friends and one of my gifted kids. Well every so often they had a question and came up to me for help. I always say what do you think the answer is. Well my average, cool student was right every time and surprised the gifted kid. I was so proud of him and I think he was proud of himself too.

2. Llama asked: Do you miss teaching Kindergarten? What are the pros and cons to the different worlds? I definitely miss Kindergarten. The babies are so cute and fun to work with. The pros of 5th grade is that they are old enough to work independently, read directions I write on the board and they understand more. The cons are that some are bigger then me, also they have have bigger attitudes, wondering minds and don't care about school as much. They also have way more testing.

3. Shelby asked: Whats my favorite thing to make? This is hard....I love baking almost anything. My favorite thing would be all the cookies I make at Christmas time, which include:
Italian Anisette cookies
rolo cookies
Peanut butter blossoms
Peanut butter krispy balls
rum balls
Peanutbutter cup brownie bites
mint chocolate chip cookies
paula deen chocolate gooey butter cookies

I also love making Triffles: My favorite is chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, cool whip and Heath bar topping!!

4. Lindsey asked: If you could have lunch with anyone dead or alive who would it be?I would probably have to say my dad. I would love to sit and talk to him one last time. I wasn't able to say goodbye to him since his death was sudden and he was in another state. I would love for him to see me today and what I have accomplished and meet my husband. There are so many things I would want to ask him as well.
I do want to cheat and answer it for someone that is alive and I would pick Mariah Carey. She is my favorite female singer. I would love to meet her and ask her about why she writes some of her songs and if they have personal connections to them. Maybe some day I will get to meet her!
Love this question thanks Lindsey!

5. Kendra asked: What do you miss most about RI:I definitely would say my family and friends...that's the obvious one though....so other than then what I miss most is the "mom and pop" places to eat like Casertas Pizza on Federal Hill, Marchetti's in Cranston. I also miss Sip and Dip coffee, Brewed Awakening coffee shop and places like that. I miss Newport and having the beach 20 mins away and little shops on Thames st. Thats it.

Thank you girls for your questions! If anyone has anymore questions feel free to post comment's and I can answer some more!

Wedding Wednesday!

Wedding Wednesday Week 2!
Only 7 weeks and 5 days till our 1 year Anniversary!

This week I am going to highlight our flowers!

I love Hydrangeas they are my favorite flower next to Lily's! :)
For the bridesmaid bouquets we had Hydrangeas and white rose bouquets. We sprayed the hydrangeas a little so that they would pop to go with the girls dresses.

I did not have a traditional white bouquet. I personally am against them because you spend so much money on flowers and you want them to pop in you pictures. I use to work for a photographer and I use to here brides say all the time that they wish they had more color in their bouquets. Even if the color is just a touch more of green. I am not trying to offend anyone who has had white bouquets I am just not a fan of them. My best friend and Matron of honor did a white bouquet and it still looked beautiful I don't want to upset anyone. Please remember this is just my opinion. Now that I have rambled on, I choose to have similar bouquets to my bridesmaids in which I had the hydrangeas and roses but to make mine stick out I added Stephanoittis flowers and butterflies to my bouquet.

Hope you like them!

Tomorrow I will be posting my responses to all the questions you guys asked me. If you have any more please ask away!

Wishful Wednesday: Charity

This weeks topic:

'I wish' .... I had never-ending funds to donate to __Cure for Autism__ charity!
or Susan G Colman or Anything Cancer related!
What charity do you or do you wish you supported and why?

This was a hard one because if I had endless amounts of money I would donate to as many charities as I could. As a Teacher I see the growing rates of children with Autism grow every year. Autism is an amazing medical diagnosis because there are so many different kinds of Autism and so everyone is different.
I would also love to donate to the Breast Cancer Association because it has become so popular and more and more people are being diagnosed with Breast Caner. We are females are all at risk. My grandmother had some cells. luckily they were found fast enough and she is fine, but so many others are not and treatments are more extensive.

Finally Cancer, Cancer is all we seem to hear about people dying from. Especially in kids. I wish we could find a cure to help people fighting with cancer. I know I was only told to pick one but it is so hard and I'm sure there are so many more out there that I would love to give money if i had it to them.

Head over to Kelsey's blog to play along!

Spring Break Recap!

WoW where do I begin! I had so much fun in Daytona Beach with Danielle! I left early Tuesday morning and flew from Atlanta to Orlando. The flights to Daytona were way more expensive and Orlando is a short drive from Daytona! Danielle has class in Orlando on Tuesday's anyway so it all worked out. While she was at class I went to a hotel where her mom works and go to lay by the pool! Check it out!

After she got out of class we went to the Cheesecake factory for dinner and it was yummy.

Wednesday and Thursday were pool days. Here are some more pictures.

Friday it was rainy and cloudy so we went to the movies. We went and saw The Last Song since I finished reading the book in the few days by the pool. I loved the book. I cried like a baby however. I actually have a personal connection to the book and movie and don't want to say much to ruin it for anyone. Despite reviews I did enjoy the movie. It was hard to watch but I loved it.

Friday night we rented Precious and stayed in and had Pizza and a movie night. Precious was ok. I'm not sure about all the awards it got. It was kinda weird at times. Did you see this movie? If so what did you think?

Late Friday night Zach got in. Saturday we all went to the beach/pool again and had some more fun in the sun. Here are some more pictures.

Saturday night we had every intention on going out after dinner, however we are "too old" lol i guess because we were exhausted. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and had some drinks there and then went back to Danielle's.

Sunday Zach and I left we drove home back to Atlanta. It was time to get my lesson plans done for this week and papers graded...BOOOO to spring break being over so fast....oooo well..

I have missed the blogging world and am glad to be back!!!

Wedding Wednesday!

Today is my 10 month anniversary! In just 2 months from today Zach and I will be celebriting our 1 year anniversary. I thought it would be fun to post details from our wedding every week to countdown to our Anniversary! I hope you enjoy looking back at our journey!

This week I will be introducing the wedding party!

We didn't want a big wedding party and the way we picked our attendants worked out so well that this is how we paired them:

Matron of Honor and Best Man
Leah is my best friend. We have been best friends since high school. She is actually the person that introduced me to Zach. We have remained close through college and still today. I was her Maid of Honor in her wedding as well.

Jeremy is Zach's older brother. A cool fact about Jeremy is that he and Zach are both born on September 17 they are just 2 years apart. He is married as well and Zach was his best man.

Bridesmaids & Goomsman

Chelsey & Tyler: The sibling couple!
Chelsey is Zach's sister and although she and I are only 3 months apart in age I love to call her my little sister. Chelsey and I grew close from day 1 of me dating Zach. She is currently engaged and we are so excited for her!

Tyler is my one and only brother. We are 7 and a half years apart in age. It meant so much to me that he was in my wedding. Since loosing the day we lost our dad I knew that we had to stay strong as brother and sisters. It actually wasn't until we moved to Georgia that Tyler and I got close. He will be graduating from high school this June and he plans to move down here to Georgia to stay with us for a little while. We are excited to have him.

Jay & Pat: the cousin couple!
Jay is my cousin and she has always been like a sister to me. I knew i wanted her to be apart of my wedding because we have always been so close.

Patrick is Zach's cousin. He is very close to Pat and spent two summers living with Pat and his family while he played soccer which made them even closer.

Danielle & Nick: the childhood friend couple!
Danielle is a friend of mine from college that I call my angel bridesmaid. She stepped in 2 weeks before the wedding because my childhood best friend dropped out due to personal and medical reasons. I was devastated but glad Danielle was there to step in. Danielle and I met in College. She survived 1 semester in RI. Then moved back to Florida. She has family in RI which kept our friendship together. Every time she would come home we would make plans to see each other.

Nick is Zach's best friend from birth. He and Zach have known each other all there lives. He is still a big part of Zach's life today. Zach told Nick that if he didn't have a brother to be his Best Man that Nick would have been the one he would have chosen.

Stacey & Anthony: The College friends Couple!
Stacey and I met in College. We went through the Education program together and became really close. My best memories with Stacey are our lunches at Panera then Shopping at Oldnavy after class. She is currently engaged and I am in her wedding this September.

Anthony and I went to Hight School together so I have known him for a while. He and Zach played on the same travel team then were roommates for 4 years in college. The two became even closer and still talk every once in a while. He cannot wait to be Uncle Tony and asks us everytime he calls if he is going to be an uncle :)

Jr. Groomsmen and Flower girls!
Tristan and Olivia are my youngest cousins on my dad's side. I am the oldest grandchild and Olivia is the youngest. I knew i wanted flower girls and I didn't want to make their brothers feel left out. They are too old to be ring barers so i decided to call them Jr. Groomsmens.
Marcus and Abigail are my cousin Jay's kids. Because she and I are so close, these two have always been like a niece and nephew to me. I knew I had to have them apart of my day!

I hope you enjoyed my Wedding Wednesday information and stay tuned each week as i countdown to our Anniversary!!

Top Two Tuesdays: Magazines!

Its time for Top 2 Tuesday over at The Undomestic Momma

This weeks topic is top 2 Favorite Magazines:

1. Shape Magazine
I love to read Shape every month because it has so much in it. From new workout ideas, to cardio tips and diet help. It is a very motivating magazine and helps me sometimes get out of a rut! This month my favorite comedian Chelsey Handler is on the cover!

2. My second favorite magazine is People!
I love people magazine because it gives me the star scoop and its not as "trashy" as some other magazines. It also usually has fashion looks in it as well. I love doing the crossword at the back. People is my must have magazine when i am traveling. I will be getting one today in the airport for sure!

There is still time to ask me anything. I got a few responses yesterday! Ask away! You can ask in the comment section or send me an email to Jtobin1204@gmail.com
